JE / NITTO FORGED 2618 PISTON RANGE
The world renowned and quality brand name of JE Pistons along with NITTO Performance Engineering have combined craftsmanship and knowledge to forge the JE / NITTO Sports Compact range of pistons. All pistons are designed to NITTO’s stringent standards and allow for a stronger piston with a lower friction coefficient resulting in more power and superior ring control.
High levels of performance demand from extreme piston usage and conditions have been addressed within this range of top shelf pistons and accessories. All JE / NITTO pistons are forged from low silicone content T6 – 2618 Aluminium Alloy and finished to perfection with various normally optional inclusions such as contact reduction grooves, accumulator groove, JE Pro Seal premium ring sets and upgraded 9810 tool steel piston pins on all kits supplied.
Custom application pistons are also available.

All piston kits contain the following features:
CONTACT REDUCION GROOVES: A series of small grooves machined into the piston area between the outer edge of the crown and the first ring land which reduces piston to bore friction and increases horse power and durability
ACCUMULATOR GROOVE: A large vee shaped groove machined into the piston area between the first and second ring lands that minimises ring flutter under high RPM and horse power conditions resulting in maximum combustion pressure sealing and engine output levels.
9810 TOOL STEEL PISTON PINS: Upgraded high quality / high strength piston pins that offer further reliability in the transmission of large torque and horsepower levels.
T6 2618 ALUMINIUM ALLOY LOW SILICONE CONTENT MATERIAL: A higher silicone content piston (typically A4032 alloy) is harder but also makes the piston more brittle which leaves it open to failure under high combustion pressure which is common in moderate to hard tuned turbocharged performance engines. High silicon content pistons will also have a faster failure rate should detonation occur.
